Marston used to be instrumental in organising Pasadena as a winter resort after which as a thriving community. He and his firm designed 1000 projects, many of which still continue to exist, including cottages and additions to resort hotels, notable commercial and civic buildings such because the Pacific Asia Museum, and the earliest bungalow court. His residential designs span the variety of styles from the Arts and Crafts via English Tudor and Monterey Colonial to, so much importantly, Mediterranean Revival. That is a very powerful addition to the literature of California’s Golden Age of architecture.
