For the reason that inaugural meeting was once held in August 1863, Saratoga Springs has been the scene of memorable races, continuously featuring legends of the sport. Even supposing one of the most epic moments are still familiar nowadays, such as Upset’s defeat of Man o’ War in the 1919 Sanford Memorial, most of the triumphs and defeats that were once famous have been forgotten.
