Within the first two parts, the narratives explore the positive and negative aspects of life Within the mines and Within the company towns. The third part looks at the continuing educational have an effect on of the mines, including the influence at the development of local museums and at the Smithsonian Institution’s mine exhibit that opened in 1997.
