Description

Benitos childhood in El Salvador is disrupted when gang violence comes to his community. When gang members start to recruit his siblings and target the circle of relatives with violence, Benitos mother comes to a decision that the circle of relatives will leave the country. Benitos new life in Mexico is different. He and his circle of relatives hope to someday return home. Interspersed with facts about El Salvador and its people, this narrative tells a story common to many refugees fleeing the country. Readers will learn concerning the conflict there and how they may be able to assist refugees of their communities and around the globe who’re struggling to find permanent homes.
