Zainab has never known peace in her fatherland of Iraq. She and her circle of relatives flee the country after her father is threatened by one of the vital many groups fighting against the federal government. Zainab’s life is on hold as her circle of relatives seeks safety in Jordan and, later, america. Interspersed with facts about Iraq and its people, this narrative tells a story common to many refugees fleeing the country. Readers will learn in regards to the ongoing conflict in Iraq and how they may be able to assist refugees of their communities and all over the world who are struggling to find permanent homes.
