Description

Eight-year-old Etienne and his circle of relatives live in The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Kidnapped by a riot army and forced to be a child soldier, Etienne after all escapes and is sent to a camp for freed child soldiers. He’s reunited with his circle of relatives who then flee the country, arriving as refugees in Canada. Interspersed with facts concerning the DRC and its people, this narrative tells a story common to many refugees fleeing the country. Readers will learn concerning the experiences of child soldiers and how they may be able to assist refugees of their communities and world wide who’re struggling to find permanent homes.
