The book is the actual life story of Solon B. Lewis, a County Rural Policeman, Deputy Sheriff, and South Carolina Governors Officer in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s in Marion County South Carolina. Solon used to be shot 2 times in the line of duty, used to be forced to kill an armed robber, and faced many personal and professional tragedies in his life because he fought to clean out his community of organized crime, bootleggers, murderers, and robbers. This can be a fascinating true story of one mans life all through the Prohibition era and in the back of the scenes have a look at local, county, and state politics. Solon Lewis captured many high profile criminals of the time the usage of the art of fingerprint science. Solon became a fingerprint identification expert at a time when the FBI used to be just experimenting with the science.
