Description

Allegany County used to be established in 1789 and is really one among The united states’s historic transportation and industrial centers. The photographs presented here portray this heritage and were selected with care from the writer’s selection of a few thousand postcards. The book features Allegany’s towns and communities, downtown business scenes, residential areas, industries, historic buildings, churches, schools, hospitals, floods, parades, coal mining, railroad stations, and historic and natural landmarks. In some cases, the non-public messages sent at the back of the postcards are included.
