Description

Annie is an eighteen year old slave girl whose circle of relatives is in great danger from the plantation’s owner, Mr. Willard. He’s sadistic and cruel and used to getting his own way. Set in Florida within the 1850’s, the story is a diary of sorts, outlining the story of how Annie’s circle of relatives plotted to forestall Mr. Willard from seeking to have all of them killed.
It is a true story, and it is stuffed with descriptions of how things in truth were for slaves throughout the colonial period. It also outlines the brutal prejudice that Blacks faced throughout that time frame.
