Ollantay combines tragedy and comedy, and has a vivid cast of female and male characters. This translation by Clements Markham follows the original closely and is very readable. Walter Edmund Roth (1861 – 1933)
Walter Edmund Roth (2 April 1861 – 5 April 1933) used to be an English anthropologist and physician, active in Australia.

Roth used to be born in London, sixth child of Dr. Mathias Roth (a physician and naturalised Hungarian refugee) and his wife Anna Maria nee Collins. He used to be educated to begin with on the College Mariette, at Boulogne, and at Paris, France and later in Germany. Like his brothers Henry Ling Roth and Reuter Emerich Roth, at University College School. He studied biology at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he used to be a recent of Sir 1st earl baldwin of bewdley Spencer, and undertook medical training at St Thomas’s Hospital, London.
