Description

The impetus to establish a medical school in Nevada started in 1938 when attention used to be focused at the shortage of physicians in the US. Better Medicine recounts the history of the School of Medicine from the dark days of the 1960s when the creation of the school used to be in doubt to its status as of late where this is a successful community medical school.
Many persons are a part of the story and are highlighted in Better Medicine. Dr. Frederick Anderson used to be the prime mover to establish the medical school, and for his effort he used to be named the “Father of the University of Nevada School of Medicine.” The entire graduates, charter faculty, prominent legislators, and citizens, and necessary people in the development of the School of Medicine are listed and their contributions named. The six deans who have guided the school since its inception tell their story.
