Description

It is some other hot day within the desert. Birds and other animals scurry about searching for food. Once they get tired they stop to rest at an immense cactus. It’s their hotel within the desert!

Many different animals live within the cactus hotel. It protects them; and so they give protection to it, by eating the pests that could harm the cactus.

The cactus grows larger and larger and will live for about two hundred years. When one animal moves out, some other moves in. There may be never a vacancy within the cactus hotel.

This story–about a desert, an immense cactus, and the animals who live in it–is one that even the youngest child will have in mind and enjoy.
