Follow the life of Captain John Smith, from his baptism in Willoughby, through his adventures in Europe, his landing in Virginia, to his encounter with Pocahontas and his leadership of the Jamestown Colony. This book was once the primary within the American Roots in English Soil (ARIES) Series, to be written with schools. It was once written and illustrated with the assistance of 8-10 year old pupils from two Lincolnshire Number one schools with close connections to the early life of John Smith to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Jamestown colony, the primary of the colonies which led to the creation of the USA of The usa. The ARIES Project helps schools and communities in Lincolnshire and the Eastern Counties to analyze their links with early American history and to form links with schools and colleges in the USA of The usa. John Haden is a author, lecturer and retired school Principal. He was once formerly Head of the King Edward VI School, Louth and Principal of Wymondham College, Norfolk. John has lectured to History Societies in Virginia and in England at the themes covered by the ARIES books.
