Not illustrated. 1893 Excerpt: …of this Act, and the parishioners duly qualified to vote at any election of vestrymen for the parish where such death, vacating, retirement or absence from the island without leave shall take place, shall on the second one Monday following such death, vacating, retirement or absence of forty days from the island without leave as aforesaid, repair to the place provided by law for the holding of elections of vestrymen for such parish and elect a duly qualified person to serve in the place of the member who shall have died, vacated his seat or die, or vacate their seats, or are absent for more than W days without leave. Vestries Act. retired or have been absent from the island without leave for the period aforesaid, and such election will probably be decided in the same manner as in this Act hereinafter mentioned, and in case a poll will probably be required for the determination thereof such poll will probably be taken at the Monday then next following, and the same course will probably be pursued and observed in all respects for filling up the place of any member of vestry who shall have died, vacated his seat, or retired, or have been absent from the island without leave for the period aforesaid as is required to be pursued and observed concerning elections of vestrymen at the first Monday in January in once a year or due to this fact to such Monday, or as near thereto as circumstances will admit.
