Acclaimed designer George Nakashima (1905-1990) is highest known for his furniture, which is prized for its very good craftsmanship and its organic use of the natural lines and grain of the wood. Nakashima was once also an architect who designed a lot of distinguished buildings all through his career. Most importantly, he was once a man committed to the mixing of his work, his day-to-day life and the wildlife. the artist, exploring the philosophical ideas that lie beneath his work. Told by his daughter, colleague and successor, designer Mira Nakashima, this book presents the advance of an artist and his profound influence on up to date design.
