Description

Frontier “hog ranches” were section saloon, section dance hall, and section brothel. These rip-roaring institutions regularly sprung up around forts to supply diversion for the troops, even if cowboys and locals were willing to drag up a stool on the bar as neatly.
Author Larry Brown has gathered the stories of Wyoming’s hog ranches from Mother Featherleg’s place to the 9 Mile Ranch to the Hog Ranch at Fetterman. The colourful sites were brimming with sin, gunplay, murder, outlaws, and romance.
