Description

This was once designed for Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, the Litany and Ante-Communion, the use of the 1662 BCP as the structure. Then again, we added the Westminster Standards and Three Types of Unity. It is a “Reformed Book of Common Prayer.” It was once designed for those with Reformed backgrounds who get no Reformed Theology in Anglican and Episcopal contexts, schools or pulpits. The old Anglicans had Reformed Churchmen, but those days are gone. Expect little-to-no Reformed Theology in Anglican/Episcopal contexts. This was once designed for private use. It does not have the other offices. For those with Reformed catechesis in their backgrounds, you’ll consider this. For the Reformed, we are still liturgical and Prayer Bookish. Neither affinity group may like the amendments, yet both may consider this hybrid, driven of necessity and desire. Yet, both old school Anglicans, old school Presbyterians and old school Reformed Churchmen will recognize these things. Of course, the Anabaptacostalist traditions is not going to consider any of this. They would fairly clap, enthuse, “get all excited” and do free-for-alls. Clap-trap. Then again, this new RBCP is “regulated” and disciplined by the Bible. It can be the first of its kind–both Reformed and Anglican.
