Description

This volume gives an extensive description of Sumerian grammar in accordance with texts dating from the center of the third millenium to the tip of the Old Babylonian period (about 1600 B.C.). In advance theories, especially regarding the verbal system, essentially the most difficult chapter of Sumerian grammar, are discussed. Further, it also deals with the history of the Sumerian language and its use in literary and non secular texts within the Old Babylonian period when it was once already a dead language. It’s now published in a new edition with a supplementary bibliography.
