This book is a pictorial history having a look back at the Western Maryland Railway through black and white photos throughout its glory years of operations within the 1950s, to its ultimate years of pre-consolidation within the 1970s through color photography. It also takes a take a look at the railroad more than a decade after its merger into the Chessie System. We can also review a temporary history at the “Queen City” (Cumberland, Maryland), in addition to the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal.
