Trinidad, California, like most cities within the U.S., has a storied past. Starting as the Yurok village of Tsurai possibly way back to the 1100’s, through Spanish discovery in 1775, and still a full of life little coastal city of over three hundred people lately, Trinidad has evolved with the times. Sit down with me and let me tell you about our history as the most important ocean harbor link with the fur traders of the northwest and the gold mining camps of Northern California. Logging and milling the giant redwoods began around here and we had our own whaling station, too. And let me tell you about the individuals who came here and grew Trinidad into the 14,719th largest city within the U.S.! This book also features a handy Guide to Nautical Terms just because I wanted it to. Pull up a rocking chair and let’s look back as I tell you about Trinidad from my front porch.
