On the outbreak of World War II, the Royal Canadian Navy consisted of simply 13 warships and about 3000 permanent and reserve members. By the war’s end, alternatively, it had grown into the third largest navy on this planet, with 365 warships and more than 100,000 staff. The women and men of the Royal Canadian Navy came from all corners of Canada to fight within the sea war against the enemy. In combination, they exceeded even the easiest expectations in their allies.
