Each quilt, some traditional, others innovative, is a testament to creativity and perseverance and reflects the common experiences of a young country, first, as it was once being settled by waves of immigrants, after which as it matures through war, both civil and foreign, economic depression and the more mundane events of the day by day lives of its citizens.
