In 1898, Raymond C. Yard started his career within the jewelry business as a door boy at Marcus & Co. It was once all the way through this era that the newly affluent American industrial families started to patronize American jewelers like Tiffany & Co. Yard was once encouraged by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., to open his own company; Rockefeller really useful the Yard firm to his circle of relatives and connections, and in a while Yard was once creating jewels for the Woolworth, Flagler, DuPont, Harriman, and Vanderbilt families.

The creations of the Yard company were at all times characterized by the absolute best-quality gems, intricate settings, timeless style, and a sly sense of whimsy.
