That is the first book devoted to a single passenger train route in North The us to be published in full color. And what a route it’s! A route steeped in history, romance, and the awesome scenery of the Rocky Mountains. The scenic richness inspired the officials of 3 railroads–the Burlington, Rio Grande, and Western Pacific–to introduce a new form of train after WWII. It used to be a long distance train scheduled to pass during the magnificent areas all over daylight and it used to be referred to as the ‘California Zephyr.’ This book tells the tale of the ‘California Zephyr,’ its successor the ‘Rio Grande Zephyr,’ and the Superliner cars of nowadays–Amtrak’s new ‘California Zephyr.’
