Description

Albion was once settled within the 1830s at The Forks of the Kalamazoo River in Calhoun County. It’s home to Albion School, founded in 1835, and Starr Commonwealth Faculties, founded in 1913 by Floyd Starr. Two famous songs were written in Albion: The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi, in 1911, and The Old Rugged Cross, in 1912. As Albion prospered within the twentieth century, postcard photographers captured numerous photographs highlighting landmarks and streetscapes all through town.
