Description

I’m going to Take You There, is an oral and photographic history of certainly one of The us’s premier blues clubs positioned in Northwest, Ohio, and reasonably popular within the 1950s,1960s, and early 1970s. It was once more than only a blues club and featured African American motorcycle racing, horse racing and exhibition baseball games. The creator conducted a series of interviews with local and national blues musicians, and other African Americans who participated in events at Hines Farm. Also included are 63 black and white photographs from the 1950s and 1960s, of performers, patrons, African American motorcycle clubs at Hines Farm and posters for events at Hines Farm for such blues and jazz greats as John Lee Hooker, Count Basie, Little Esther Phillips, Jimmy reed and plenty of others.
