Description

Murfreesboro used to be recognized as an official city in 1817, and from 1818 to 1826, it used to be the capital of Tennessee. In its early years, the town established itself as a wealthy agricultural community. By 1853, the area used to be home to a few colleges and a couple of academies. Murfreesboro played a decisive role within the Civil War and suffered the lack of many of its people and much of its architecture. On the other hand, within the early 20th century, Murfreesboro regained its momentum and started to rebuild. A number of the buildings from this era still exist as of late and stand as great reminders of the townÂ’s past.
