Description
This book documents David Chipperfield’s so much necessary project to this point: the Neues Museum, centerpiece of the Berlin Museumsinsel. Images taken in natural light by Candida Höfer show the rooms after their of completion and before they were furnished. Höfer’s pictures are complemented by texts from well known architects, architectural historians, art historians and conservation architects highlighting the basic principles of the project. An interview with David Chipperfield offers insight into the issues surrounding the work.
