“My name is Lena and I’m seven. I’m the colour of cinnamon. Mom says she may eat me up.”

Lena is going to color a picture of herself. She wants to make use of brown paint for her skin. But if Lena and her mother take a walk through their neighborhood, Lena sees that there are lots of different sunglasses and tones of brown. Seen from an artist’s viewpoint, skin colors are subtle, varied–and cause for celebration!
